Scar Mobilisation Therapy
Gently Freeing Your Scar to Restore Movement and Comfort Throughout Your Body

Is Your Scar Dictating How You Move?
After the initial healing, a scar can sometimes feel like it has a mind of its own, holding the surrounding tissue in a restrictive grip that limits your freedom.
Tethered or ‘Stuck’ Scars
For scars that feel deeply stuck to the tissues underneath, creating a visible pull on the skin when you move.
Thick or Hard Scar Tissue
Ideal for scars that feel dense, thick, or ropey, lacking the natural softness of the surrounding skin and tissue.
Post-Surgical Restriction
Especially effective after procedures like C-sections, joint replacements, or abdominal surgeries where movement feels limited.
What is Scar Mobilisation?
Think of your body as being made of many layers, from the skin on the surface to the muscles and bones deep below. When your fascial web is healthy, these layers glide over each other effortlessly. A scar, however, can act like a stitch, sewing these layers together and preventing that essential movement.
Scar Mobilization is a focused, hands-on form of Scar Therapy that is more specific than a general Scar Massage. It is a precise and intelligent technique designed to restore movement between these adhered fascial layers. By applying specific, sustained tension in multiple directions—up, down, and diagonally—we are gently inviting the adhered layers of your ‘fascial onesie’ to unstick and remember how to glide once more. This restores function not just at the scar, but along the entire line of tension it may have been creating.
What to Expect From Your Consultation
This is a gentle and deeply respectful therapy. Our entire session is a conversation with your body, never a fight against it.
1. A Holistic View
We begin by looking at your whole body to understand the story your scar is telling and how it connects to your overall movement patterns.
2. Identifying the Restriction
Using skilled and gentle touch, I will assess the different layers of tissue to pinpoint exactly where the scar is tethered and which direction of movement needs to be encouraged.
3. The Feeling of Release
The mobilization itself feels like a deep, specific, and releasing stretch. It is always performed within your comfort, working with your breath to allow the tissues to let go, not forcing them.
4. An Empowering Plan for Home
You will leave not only feeling more free but also with a clear understanding of your body and the specific self-mobilization techniques you can use at home to continue your progress.
